The Plan Behind Bethany Church's Renewal

June 5, 2026

One of the questions I get asked most often is, "How do you revitalize a church?"

While every church is different, our strategy at Bethany Church can be summarized in three simple steps.

1. Get Ready to Receive People

Before inviting others in, we want to ensure our church is ready to welcome them well. From facility improvements and cleaner spaces to hospitality and guest experience, we're working to remove barriers that might distract people from hearing the good news of Jesus.

2. (Re)Introduce Ourselves to the Community

Many people in Stillwater don't know Bethany Church exists—or what we're about. Through community events, partnerships, service projects, and intentional outreach, we're building relationships and creating opportunities to share hope with our neighbors.

3. Shepherd Those God Sends Us

When people walk through our doors, we want them to be known, loved, and encouraged to grow in their faith. Our goal isn't simply attendance—it's helping people find and follow Jesus.

Thank you for partnering with us through prayer and financial support. Every improvement, every connection, and every changed life is possible because we're serving together.

Over the next several ministry updates, I'll share stories that bring this strategy to life—from mission teams and facility improvements to community engagement and life transformation. My hope is that you'll not only see what God is doing at Bethany Church, but also how your partnership is helping make it possible.

The work isn't finished, but God is moving—and we're excited about what lies ahead.

FYI - It turns out “getting ready to receive people” occasionally includes getting ready to receive summer by repairing the church mower.
